A small local airport serving the immediate area. There are never lines or crowds and everyone is so friendly, great way to start any trip from home. I really like not having to drive to Charlotte NC and back for a lengthy trip away.

Took my wife to fly out to help family. We fly so seldom, not only was I not flying, we didn't know the rules. But no worries! Everyone was so friendly, even the TSA guards answered questions before starting work, plus the ticket booth offered the information that they could take my wife's overhead bag and she could claim it at her destination! And, in spite of being 'able' to do that herself, because she's still recovering from a spinal fusion and tires easily, they provided wheelchair services, for which both of us were extremely grateful, especially me, I knew how rough catching the transfer flight was going to be on her and I wouldn't be able to help. The kindness and unasked for considerations were above and beyond, making all the difference in the comfort of this flight for her. Thanks to Flo, and AA for their commendable spirt and help!

Florence Regional Airport is a small airport that only uses one terminal. Delta does not fly into this airport: only American Airlines, as far as I know. It can get frustrating at times because every flight I take, no matter the destination, has to go to Charlotte first. Although it may be small, don't be fooled by the agents' expertise and efficiency. I fly quite often for business, and I've seen many different agents working here over the years. Every one of them take their jobs seriously, and that's why I feel safe here. So if you're the person in front of me or behind me bickering about having to do something you don't normally have to do, know they're doing the job they were trained to do. My safety matters, and yours should too. You're not going to get on that plane any faster than I am because we're all going to have to wait together at the gate! So zip it and show some respect. Maybe even thank them for keeping you safe! Yep, I think that's a grand idea! Enjoyed this sunrise from my window view this morning, but the picture just doesn't do it justice!
