This trail offers paddlers a captivating experience of floating through swampland that was once traversed by Patriots engaged in guerrilla warfare against the Loyalists and British, and also features a unique platform campsite accessible only by water.

Get nutty in Florence and Lake City by hopping on the SC Pecan Trail, a culinary and retail trail featuring 20+ local restaurants putting pecans in the spotlight in everything from pecan pie martinis to pecan encrusted grouper to White Russian pecan pie. Visit participating businesses, collect stamps with each purchase, and turn in your stamped passport to snag some cool pecan swag!

Florence Center, the largest convention, meeting and exhibition facility in northeast South Carolina, is the place for a variety of live entertainment shows and conventions, as well as social gatherings. The FMU Performing Arts Center and Florence Little Theatre, both in Downtown Florence, offer a variety of high caliber performances year-round.

Surrounded by scenic farmland vistas, Florence offers an abundance of beautiful parks and natural areas. Walk among the trees on the canopy walk at Lynches River County Park, spy alligators from the boardwalk at Woods Bay State Park, take in the beautiful sculptures by Alex Palkovich and pay homage to local veterans at the Florence Veterans Park.
