Service was excellent, I cant say enough about the service, it is rare to get good service, our waitress was beyond good Food was really good and I will be back to get my other option as I could only eat one meal Atmosphere was 3 stars only due to my age and really dont like dimly lit eating facilities, really hard to read a menu
Oct 12, 2026 · Google ReviewCame to Florence on a whim and got hungry. Came here as it was one of few places open on a Sunday and glad it was. Delicious! Had burnt ends which were very good. Good BBQ.
Oct 4, 2026 · Google ReviewThe BEST BBQ ever. Tender juicey brisket. Awesome burnt ends. Killer ribs. Collard greens, mac&cheese and bbq beans were amazing! Don't miss this spot!

Sep 27, 2026 · Google ReviewWholly Smokin’ in Florence was a very good stop, especially if you’re looking for barbecue with a fun, casual atmosphere. I had the pulled chicken platter with lima beans and corn, plus a side of fried okra. Anjelina had the small pulled pork platter with slaw and the lima beans and corn. The food was DELICIOUS. Both the pulled chicken and pulled pork were tender, well cooked and full of flavor. The sauces were particularly good. The Kansas City style was sweet and savory, while the Carolina mustard sauce was tangy with just enough kick. Both were excellent with the barbecue. As usual, dining out for us requires a little more homework than simply deciding what sounds good. Between the two of us, we bring a tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal syndrome, a gluten allergy and dairy sensitivity to the table — with diabetes thrown in as the kicker, just in case ordering dinner was getting too easy. Our waiter seemed to genuinely understand the allergy issues and was confident in the restaurant’s ability to accommodate them. He was friendly, helpful and made us comfortable with our choices. When you’re dealing with actual food allergies, that confidence and knowledge matter. The dining room was spacious, clean and had a good casual barbecue atmosphere. There was also a live band playing while we were there, which we weren’t expecting but ended up really enjoying. They were good, although the music made things a little loud. Wholly Smokin’ works well for a casual date, getting together with friends or just a good everyday meal. I’d also be comfortable using it for a casual business lunch or dinner, although the live music could make conversation more difficult depending on when you visit. Good barbecue, excellent sauces, friendly service and a positive experience navigating our somewhat ridiculous collection of dietary restrictions. We’d happily eat here again.
Sep 20, 2026 · Google ReviewFood was great. Could've done without the band on Sunday. Seemed more like it should be for a Friday or Saturday evening
Sep 20, 2026 · Google ReviewThis time around I had the brisket, fried okra and collards. The brisket was ok, it's been better in the past but I'm not mad. The fried okra was very, very tasty and breaded just right with a nice crunch. Collards were deliciously seasoned and not tough. Overall and delicious and filling meal at a great value for the price. While thr food was great, the brunch time live jazz band leaves a lot to be desired. They were too loud and made it difficult to hear the people with you at the table. Maybe a good thing for a Friday or Saturday night meal but not a brunch. Too bad I don't know sign language. I gave them 3 stars because of the jazz band.
