Darryl PressleyI "ain't no food o' no" restaurant critic. Nope. I'm just another not so but kinda handsome old dude trying to be romantic brother on a budget with his better half. That being the case, you should know money can be an issue in the present economy; yet, I gladly paid our check at Don Jose Mexican Restaurant. No questions asked. Perfection! They probably were expecting me. Must be? Had to been! Huh? How can I not give this experience 5 stars when it deserves at least a 7? The food was 5, the service was 5, and the atmosphere was 5. Everything seemed clean and smelled good too. Seemed to good to be true. 🤔 Perfect. Perfect? Yes, perfect. I felt a deservingly proud aura, history and culture beeming throughout the establishment.

Doug PaintsI love this place! Definitely my number one spot for Mexican food in Florence. Everyone on staff is so quick and friendly. Two of the servers that we get pretty often are Janet and David and they are absolute rock stars. So nice and attentive to the table and fast! The food is great but the staff is definitely the reason we keep coming back. I love the burrito Durango! Plus the lunch menu is so affordable! Where else can a big guy like me go and get completely full for just 8 bucks any more? Love Don Jose! Also, today I was super impressed when one of the young men who works here saw my mother, who is handicapped, coming out of the car and up to the door and he went out of his way to make sure the door was nice and open for her and he waited for us to get to the door, even in the rain. Little things like that are what make all the difference, in my opinion.

Joseph WilliamsWas in town for work and coworkers told us to try it out. Highly impressed and it lived up to their hype. Waiter was awesome, we placed our order, he read is back to us and wrote it down while repeating it in Spanish. They were gracious enough to swap out the rice, beans and tortillas for extra veggies since I'm on Keto. The flavors of this place were absolutely AMAZING. 10/10 would and will definitely go back.
