After spending a day visiting Hartsville I did some digging to find some local favorite places to eat...bingo, Westwood BBQ eill go down as one the best semi-kept secret. Neal CarterHad my first visit over the weekend and was impressed. The BBQ on the buffet was very good. The mustard BBQ sauce was very good. The rice was excellent. I was impressed that they had field peas on the buffet which is rare to me. Aside from the BBQ itself, my favorites were the lima beans and the yams. Just excellent.

Greg YountWestwood is always a place I would stop at to have lunch when coming through Hartsville. The barbecue and fixings are usually very good. However, the last couple of times I had lunch there, the food just didn't seem as good. Most of the problem was that the bbq and a few other items were just not very hot. I understand its a buffet, but that's is a concern when it comes to the bbq and other meats. Maybe the burners underneath the food especially the meats just need to be adjusted. I still will give it another try next time through.
