Black River State Park - The Meadows
Black River State Park is currently in the planning and development process and is currently closed.
The park will first become available to the public during our soft opening scheduled April 2, 2026 through September 30, 2026.
HOURS
Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, beginning April 2, 2026.
ADMISSION
$3 adults; $1.50 SC Seniors (age 65 & older); $1 children age 6-15; ages 5 & younger free.
PETS
Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten park visitors and/or harass wildlife.
Black River State Park is the first linear park in South Carolina, providing access to over 70 miles of water trails. The Meadows is the first of several locations within the park to open for public use. It features newly constructed public parking, a canoe and kayak launch, restrooms and a covered pavilion with views of the river.
The Black River is designated as a South Carolina Scenic River, named for its tannin-stained waters, which flow from the surrounding swamps in the watershed. Whether you’re paddling quietly along the cypress-lined riverbank or exploring the plants and wildlife on the Nature Trail, the Meadows at Black River State Park offers experiences that will create lifelong memories for you and your family.
