Truly incredible! Standing Pines is a new and developing campground. BUT, owners Amy and Craig and a small staff have created an amazingly professional, friendly, and comfortable community. Amy's greeting upon arrival was Carolina warm and sincere ... setting a high level of hospitality. The fellow campers graciously waved, said hello, or offered to help as I parked my RV ... not the typical noisy stare as in some campgrounds. The RV sites are well packed, level gravel. The full hookups are new and convenient. Virtually every site has a nice view of a beautiful lake due to the gently rising contour of the land. The Welcome Center has a great stock of supplies, snacks, games, lounge chairs, grills, etc . It also housed spotlessly clean, individual restrooms/showers. And ... Ohhhhh! ... The outdoor oasis rain showers! ... Ohhhhh! ... A delightful treat after a long, hot day at Darlington Raceway. In a short time, the staff has created several activity stations: 9 hole putt-putt, sprinkler splash grass pad, ropes course, playgrounds, multiple porch swings pod, etc. Also, Amy coordinates several special events: pot-lucks, movie nights, game/bingo night, mini Sunday service, etc. Several campers seemed to enjoy those events. I highly recommend Standing Pines, and I plan to return!
Sep 14, 2026 · Google ReviewThe staff and owners at Standing Pines Campground & RV Resort were genuinely one of the strongest parts of our stay. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, welcoming, and clearly cared about both the property and the experience of their guests. The campground itself was clean and well kept, and there are a lot of amenities that would be especially nice for families traveling with younger kids. They also had several activities planned for campers during our stay, including things like a potluck and movie night. Our main concern was that the property still feels very new and not yet fully established. Many of the sites, including ours, had very little mature tree cover, shade, grass, or other established ground cover. The first couple of days we were there, temperatures were well into the upper 90s, and the lack of shade made a noticeable difference. Our RV air conditioners were basically running nonstop trying to keep up, and between the heat and the bugs, we really were not able to enjoy the outdoor portion of our site. There was also a lot of loose sand around the campsite. That meant constantly cleaning sand out of the RV as it was tracked inside, and it seemed to add to the bug problem as well, including ants. For RV owners, especially those with slide-outs, having that much sand and debris around the coach is not ideal either, particularly around the slide areas and seals. The sand gnats were probably the biggest issue for us. Even with a toy hauler patio and screened doors that normally keep out flies, bees, and other larger insects, the gnats were small enough to still get through and made it difficult to comfortably use the patio or sit outside. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of how significant the problem was until we arrived. The staff was apologetic, which we appreciated, but by then we were already onsite during a race weekend with very little practical opportunity to find somewhere else to stay. I do want to stress that the staff and owners did a lot to keep this from becoming a much more negative experience. They were friendly, responsive, and clearly putting effort into making the campground enjoyable for their guests. Without the way we were treated by the people running the property, our overall impression would have been considerably worse. At this point, though, we probably would not return until the property has had more time to mature, with more established grass, landscaping, and shade, and until there was some confidence that the sand and sand gnat issues had improved significantly.

Aug 16, 2026 · Google ReviewWe had a fantastic stay at Standing Pines! The park has great amenities like putt putt, trails (don’t miss the one around the lake too), dog parks and more. Our favorite amenity though were the outdoor oasis showers! We absolutely loved them and my husband plans to build one at home for us now. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The best part about this campground though is the people. Amy and Craig put their heart and soul into this place and care about every person that stays with them. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and lend a helping hand whenever needed. We will definitely be back!
