The Bean Market was the world’s largest truck auction of green beans during Lake City’s agricultural prime. Built in 1936 by the Public Works Administration (PWA) as part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s “New Deal,” the building has been completely restored to serve as an attractive and modern venue for conferences, meetings, weddings, receptions, and other events.
