In addition to multiple state parks, South Carolina’s Pee Dee Region boasts a number of wildlife preserves, parks, and nature trails where you can discover the area’s spectacular natural beauty and diverse wildlife.

The multifaceted landscape of our region provides a unique opportunity to see a colorful array of flora and fauna. Native plant life ranges from stately trees like bald cypress, sycamores, and lowland oaks, to an assortment of greenery like wild blueberries, bog plants, flowering dogwoods, cattails, and more. Local wildlife is just as varied, with everything from deer, foxes, raccoons, and several dozen species of birds, to otters, coyotes, and bobcats.

Make plans to explore the natural wonderlands of the Pee Dee with a hike, bike ride, or nature walk. There are plenty of beautiful sights to see!
